This is the D’Kart Antitrust Advent Calendar 2024 – From Vestager to Ribera!

It is the end of an era: Since 2014, Margrethe Vestager served as the EU’s Commissioner for competition (in her second term even as an Executive Vice President). What a decade it was! Competition was in a spotlight – as was the charismatic leader of the strongest competition agency in the world. On 1 December 2024 the new European Commission takes office – and Teresa Ribera Rodríguez from Spain will be in charge of competition policy and enforcement. Her official title: Executive Vice President for – attention, please – Clean, Just and Competitive Transition.
