In her first TV interview after appointment (on Bloomberg), Teresa Ribera was asked about her stance on „European Champions“. How did she respond?

"We need to stick to the principles. For decades, tough competition drove European growth, not shielding us from competition. I will stick to that approach."
"We need to complete the Single Market, and a real Single Market will then see strong firms that can keep up with competition from China and the US."
"We need a much more comprehensive understanding of how things are working."
"We have difficult trade-offs before us. Maybe we need an academic advisory body like the German Monopolies Commission on the EU level."
