2017 for me involved some sadness – after 4 great years, leaving the talented career women and men at USDOJ and surrendering the privilege of working with outstanding competition enforcers like Andreas Mundt and Margrethe Vestager. But there was a sense of real accomplishment as the US courts validated our challenges to mergers involving health insurance and nuclear waste. We ended eight years of vigorous antitrust enforcement under President Obama on a high note.
