The 2022 opinion of Advocate General Juliane Kokott in Towercast reminded some of Continental Can, the famous 1973 ECJ case on merger control and abuse. The case in question dealt with Europemballage, a company set up by Continental Can to buy the Dutch metal container manufacturer Thomassen & Drijver-Verblifa. Where was Europemballage’s company seat? The building you see here is in that town. We were not able to verify whether Europemballage has its headquarters in exactly these premises, but it would not come as a big surprise. Little hint: The head of the country lives in that town.
